Knowing what to do before, during and after a wildfire can help keep you and your loved ones safe.
Sign up for local emergency alerts, follow local emergency services on social media, have a battery-powered AM/FM radio can help you stay informed if a wildfire happens.
Develop an Emergency Plan using an evacuation checklist as a guide. Know the different routes in and out of your community, neighborhood, and work and/school. Create a family communication plan. This plan should include an out-of-area contact, a family meeting place outside of hazard area, and how you will contact each other in case you are separated during an emergency. Have a plan for pets and large animals such as horses and other livestock.
People with disabilities should consider individual circumstances and specific needs when planning for emergencies and disasters. Plan on who to contact and what to do, especially if you need help from others to evacuate. Create a support network of people who can help you during an emergency including any special equipment/transportation needs.
Gather and create a go-kit of essential supplies for your health, safety and identification. Some items to include are water, non-perishable food, flashlight and batteries, AM/FM radio, First Aid Kit,

Create an evacuation plan for pets and large animals such as horses and other livestock. For small animals, prepare pet travel kit that includes food, water, leashes, bedding, identification, medication vaccination or medical records.
